The mission of Sea Star Training Stables is to help develop self-confidence, responsibility, respect, and compassion through horseback riding and related activities via self-discipline and positive encouragement.
Edie Achterman has worked in the horse industry for 25 years, holding a variety of positions in Southern California, where she rode at Portuguese Bend Riding Club as a junior, and along the Central Coast. Edie has been fortunate to work with several Central Coast hunter/jumper trainers, including Riley and Marie Wilson, Vikki Fehr, and Vicki Rose. A lifelong educator, Edie holds an MA in counseling and has taught high-school students for 30 years. Sea Star Training Stables allows Edie to combine her love of continuing education with her passion for the horse world.

An historic, family-owned property nearly six decades old, Briarcliff Farm is conveniently located less than 5 minutes from Soquel Village. Nestled at the foot of the Soquel Hills and alongside Soquel Creek, the facility’s 3 arenas have a stunning view of the redwoods. Briarcliff has three arenas, two round pens, one lighted arena, a variety of cross-country jumps, river sand footing, and access to trails that cover over 800 acres.
